What are Artner’s features and strengths?

Here, we offer a simple outline of the main features and strengths of our business.

Founded in 1962 as a design and development firm, the Company grew by winning contract work for design and development from manufacturers in the Keihanshin region, which drove Japan’s rapid economic growth. In our nearly 60-year history, we have succeeded in building trust with many client companies and accumulating a proven track record as a group of engineers with roots in design and development.

Artner’s engineers are active in a broad range of fields. They participate in and provide a variety of technical services to numerous upstream projects in cutting-edge basic research and design development conducted by major companies in the automotive, consumer electronics, industrial and medical equipment, and information and telecommunications industries. The projects that our engineers participate in include, amongst others, electric vehicles, fuel cell vehicles and other eco-cars, driver assistance technology, race cars, semiconductor lithography equipment, industrial robots, and system and application development.

We believe that the growth of individual engineers is essential in meeting the advanced needs of our client companies. All Artner engineers are hired as full-time employees. After joining the Company, in addition to basic training to acquire fundamental knowledge and skills, they are also put through customized training targeted to specific client company operations, in the technical fields of Software, Electronics, and Machinery at learning centers in East and West Japan, as well as at our Utsunomiya and Nagoya offices. After being assigned to client companies, engineers receive training through career support courses to develop the ability to appropriately respond to the various individual needs of client companies.

Moreover, seminars in various fields are held to further hone our engineers’ skills. We also have in place subsidized training schemes, such as the Company bearing examination fees for engineers to acquire recommended qualifications established for each design and development job category and grade. We value the sharing of information among our employees to facilitate the sharing of cutting-edge technology and the development environments of our various clients.

Artner offers career paths that suit the wide-ranging values of our engineers—such as “to hone their skills in a high-level environment and earn high compensation,” “to work in a particular region,” “to eventually return to work in their hometowns,” “ to shift to employment with a manufacturer,” or “to stay in the field until mandatory retirement age.” Moreover, engineers can select from career path options including “expert,” “training manager,” “managerial position,” and “continued employment after mandatory retirement age.”
