This Policy sets forth the behavior and conduct that the Company’s officers and employees (hereinafter referred to as “Officers, employees, etc.”) shall adhere to when using social media.
The purpose of this Policy is to set forth matters to be observed by the Company’s Officers, employees, etc. when using social media in order to promote appropriate use of social media by Officers, employees, etc.
“Social media” refers to blogs, social networking services, video sharing websites, and other media that enable users to create and disseminate content.
(1) The characteristics of social media and the mindset for using social media
Officers, employees, etc. will use social media in compliance with laws and regulations, the Company’s rules, and other requirements in a responsible manner and with common sense, by understanding that any content published on social media can be viewed by an unspecified number of people and spread worldwide, and that once it is published it cannot be deleted completely.
(2) Compliance with laws and regulations
Officers, employees, etc. will observe the following matters when using social media.
・Officers, employees, etc. will comply with laws and regulations. Notably, they will not engage in acts that infringe on the copyrights, trademark rights, image rights, and other intellectual property rights of third parties, as well as acts that injure their reputation.
・Officers, employees, etc. will use and disseminate content on social media in strict compliance with relevant laws and regulations, social norms, and the Company’s rules.
・Prohibition of defamation and infringement of copyrights and other rights of third parties
Officers, employees, etc. will not defame by slander or infringe any copyrights, other intellectual property rights, or other rights of third parties. Officers, employees, etc. will use citations whenever they quote from third-party content and articles.
・Protection of internal-use information and client and supplier information
Officers, employees, etc. will not disclose any confidential information or other internal-use information. In addition, they will not disclose any client or supplier information without the permission of said client or supplier.
・Execution of daily duties
Officers, employees, etc. will pay due attention to ensure that posting on social media does not become their sole obsession and interfere with their work or with the work and life of third parties.
